Composite decking has come a long way in its brief two decade history, and Penn Color has had a front row seat for the entire ride. What began as product to simply utilize scrap wood and shrink wrap that would have otherwise ended up in a land fill, has evolved into a highly engineered, luxury residential construction product.

We provide cost-effective base colorant and woodgrain solutions in PE or PVC for mono-extruded boards and for the substrate layer in multi-layer boards. But our experience and expertise really shines through when it comes to the new coextruded products on the market. We have immeasurable experience in all capstock polymers, including polyolefins, acrylics, ASA, and ionomer materials.

We utilize a pigment and additive pallet that will minimize heat absorption, reducing the temperature of the deck boards in the heat of the summer. We’ve also developed the industry’s best variegated technology, giving your deck board the ‘consistently inconsistent’ authentic woodgrain effect. This effect is available for both mono layer and multi-layer boards, and in all polymers.

We operate both QUV and Xenon weatherometers for accelerated weathering, have an outdoor test fence for real life actual weathering results, and can measure maximum vertical temperature (MVT) to test for heat buildup in the finished product.
