Delivering on Design Intent, Fast!

I’m Jil Carmichael, and as Global Product Manager at Penn Color, I often work with customers who are behind schedule and need us to accelerate their development to get back on track. Recently, a global brand owner approached us with an urgent project for a Hair Care Shampoo package. They were months behind and still had a significant amount of color exploration left. They reached out to us after hearing about our “design sprint sessions.” Within days, we hosted their project team at our design center in Hatfield, PA!

We started with digital color rendering to explore and narrow the color options. Next, we sprayed components in their branded shape for further color evaluation and selection. In the final stage, we moved to in-molded color, creating shampoo bottle prototypes in several nuanced color options within the selected color space. By the end of the session, the brand owner's team left with fully scalable, in-molded color options and were able to finalize their decision the very next day. Our on-site integrated sprint design reduced their development timeline from weeks or months to just a few days, allowing them to bring their product to market much faster than anticipated.
