Polyesters Polyethylene terephthalate or PET is a thermoplastic saturated polyester widely used in making synthetic fibers, films, sheeting and molding applications. Unsaturated polyesters are mainly used in glass-fiber reinforced plastic products. Penn Color Inc. has introduced Pennacle® color concentrates specifically formulated for Stretch Blow Molding (SBM) and Re-Heat Blow Molding (RHB) for the packaging industry. Unlike many wax based or liquid color, Pennacle colors are polyester based and completely compatible with bottle grade PET. The inherent viscosity (IV) of the base polymer is maintained at 98% of its original value ensure the bottle properties are not jeopardized by the addition of color. Furthermore, Pennacle colors will not melt prematurely in the feed throat causing screw slippage. For further technical data click on this link.
