Polyolefin Dispersions Penn Color Inc. offers a wide range of dispersions for the coloration of the polyolefin family of polymers. Polyethylene is the most widely used thermoplastic material and is used in products ranging from film, packaging, housewares, automotive parts, office furniture, and the list goes on. The two main types are low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The major differences within these groups are density and viscosity (Melt Flow). Penn Color's concentrates are formulated such that the melt flow and density match the base polymer being colored. This ensures good incorporation and distribution of color through-out the final part. Single pigment dispersions (SPD's) and specially formulated color matches are available upon request. To request a specially formulated color match please complete the Plastics Color Match Request Form.
