PVC Replacement Polymers With the ever-changing environmental moods of domestic and foreign governmental agencies, PVC compounds have been, at times, challenged for replacement. Secondly, weatherability of rigid PVC in the siding and fence markets is less suitable than other ASA or acrylics containing polymers, especially when darker colors are required. Penn Color was one of the first companies in North America to color PVC producing it's first single pigment PVC dispersion in 1964. Since that time, in addition to environmentally safe PVC concentrates, we have developed dispersions in alternative resins such as TPO, PP and other polyolefinic and acrylic containing polymer dispersions for us in end markets such as door & instrument panels and air bag covers. In many cases, we supply concentrates with the same color space in numerous polymer carriers that are spectrally identical to prevent color metamerism (hue changes in different light sources, sunlight, horizon, fluorescent, etc.). Although the industries satisfied by our polymer concentrates vary from building products to interior/exterior automotive to home furnishings to pool liners, etc., one thing is constant; our products are extremely compatible with our customers compound and processing techniques. As mentioned, Penn Color services many industries, therefore, we are experienced with all pigment chemistries and can customize our color concentrate formulas to satisfy FDA, low heat buildup, flame retardance and weatherability requirements that our customers request.
