RS Nitrocellulose Based Dispersions

Regular soluble nitrocellulose is used for cosmetic, coating, and rotogravure ink applications. Penn Color, Inc. provides a broad range of pigments in R.S. Nitrocellulose to satisfy these end uses. Food, drug, and cosmetic grade pigments (FD&C) are included in this line for the manufacture of esthetically exceptional nail lacquer finishes. Special lightfast pigments are offered for higher performance coating applications and other durable finishing systems. A balanced range of earth colors is also available to provide excellent blending properties for the preparation of high quality lightfast wood finishes.

For end uses requiring exceptional clarity, Penn Color, Inc. offers a wide variety of transparent R.S. Nitrocellulose dispersions. These dispersions are ideally suited to produce unique color effects in combination with aluminum powders or as the sole colorant for use in systems designed for the topcoating of transparent films and aluminum foils. Special attention is given to the selection of pigments possessing good inherent transparency for such applications. These pigments are then processed to develop maximum strength with unusual clarity and brilliance.

Penn Color's R.S. Nitrocellulose dispersion line encompasses a wide cross section of pigments. In many cases these dispersions are available in both chip and paste forms to provide the maximum application compatibility. As dictated by application, the paste dispersions may also be available as either super transparent colorants with properties comparable to their corresponding chip products or as highly dispersed concentrates with somewhat less transparency. Such a selection assures the proper product for the proper end use, thereby allowing price advantages for less demanding applications.

SS Nitrocellulose Based Dispersions

Although numerous new resin systems have evolved over the years, spirit soluble nitrocellulose still maintains a major role for specific end uses. Alcohol rich flexographic printing inks based upon Penn Color S.S. Nitrocellulose dispersions offer the ultimate in gloss and color characteristics.

Widely used in the coating of flexible packaging materials, Penn Color S.S. Nitrocellulose dispersions are available in a full line of extremely transparent color concentrates. These products are produced from carefully selected pigments and are controlled to provide uniform color and clarity from batch-to-batch.

Available in both chip and paste forms, the use of Penn Color's S.S. Nitrocellulose dispersions facilitate the quick and accurate manufacture of finished products with premium esthetic characteristics.

Penn Color's standard S.S. Nitrocellulose dispersion line includes a range of pigments broad enough for even the most critical ink applications. These dispersions are available in both chip and paste forms. The paste concentrates may also be provided as either super transparent colorants with properties comparable to their corresponding chips or as high quality concentrates with greater opacity and similarly high gloss. The latter products offer cost advantages for less demanding applications.
