Printing Inks

Pennco Acroverse color chips & pastes are used to produce the highest level of transparency and gloss required for inks in the Tag & Label Industry.

At an average pigment loading of 70%, our chip line is universally designed for use in both water based and solvent containing inks and coatings. Designed with universally compatible acrylic resins, these products can be dissolved in alcohols, glycol ethers, ester solvents and straight-chained ketones for further letdown with similarly soluble resin binders. A high pigment to binder ratio provides the ink formulator with greater formulation latitude and the ability to manufacture ink with the higher density levels required to work in today's fine line anilox rolls.

The Acroverse dispersions can also be made water-soluble by neutralization with ammonium hydroxide or a tertiary amine and water for further reduction with any of the many commercially available water reducible resins. For your convenience, we also offer a full line of pre-dissolved versions of our high strength chips.

The universal nature and very high pigment loadings of Pennco Acroverse dispersions afford a convenient and economical means of adding color to an ink or coating. The film forming acrylics used for this series are both heat and light stable. When applied from either waterborne or solvent based thermoplastic ink or coating systems, these products will not normally detract from the water resistance of the dried finish. Penn Color's Acroverse dispersions can also undergo crosslinking with methylated melamines or other thermosetting materials.

Penn Color also offers a full line of nitrocellulose dispersions available in highly loaded chip or paste.
